The court rules allow a spouse to apply for interim maintenance while the divorce is pending.

In an interim maintenance application we already started preparing in March 2019 and which was heard in the High Court yesterday, we obtained a court order where the other party must pay our client almost double what the other party averred he could afford.

The two parties had vastly different versions before court and therefore additional to the usual variables at play during litigation, this interim maintenance matter seemed more risky and uncertain than others.

We are happy with the client that she is able to receive a larger maintenance contribution and that there is the possibility that the divorce matter can now also be settled.
